The Finished Garden!!
Just wanted to show you how our garden turned out. I will admit that I helped on this project for about 5 minutes and that is about it. Scotty did it all and I think it looks wonderful!! Hopefully some good veggies will come soon!!

A MAN"S GARDEN!
Don't these pictures look alike?!!This was the first thing that Scott found while digging up the dirt where we are putting our garden. It is a huge root from our trees in the back.
He has been working really hard this week at patching up holes that have been made by our wonderful dogs and by the massive rain storms that we have been having lately. Hopefully we will get some good grass that will grow in the spring so it will look nice and pretty.
Scott is putting in a 13 by 5 foot garden so that we can plant all kinds of veggies. Some of which I will use to make soups. My new goal is to make a new soup every week. This week it was butternut squash soup. Scott said it was SOO good and the chefs at my work even approved it. That is a big deal. Anyway so I will use the goods from the garden to make fresh soups!! So hopefully by the end of next week it will be tilled and ready to have seeds planted!! We will keep you updated on how it goes.
The week of no voice!
A week ago I woke up with a very sore throat and thought for sure that I had strep. Well through out the day it got better so I went to work thinking I would be fine. By the end of the night I was about dying. I went home early and took meds and off to bed I went. Sunday I stayed home from church while Scotty went to fulfill his duties. I slept most the day and then Monday I felt amazing. I thought, "that was the quickest sickness I have ever had!!!!" I spoke too soon. Tuesday I woke up with a really raspy voice that pretty much sounded like a man. I went to work and we were SLAMMED! I was screaming, or trying to scream for my tables to hear me. That did not help my voice AT ALL. The following day was about the same and yesterday I really had no voice but squeaks. So I went to work and partnered with my co-worker so I didn't have to talk to anyone but still make money!! My voice is finally on the rise to being normal again. Hopefully it's not tricking me like it did at the beginning of the week.

Our trip home to Utah!
Just a quick note...it is late so this might not all come out the right way!!
So I came to the conclusion after this trip home that I am not a picture taker. I did not take one picture on our trip. I know its sad but we still had a great time. I will add some web pictures to go along with the story to make it more interesting.
Scott had not been home for about a year and the trip he took the year before was for our wedding. That was not a real trip. He didn't really spend any time with family or do what he loves, snowboarding. Well this time he got to do all that and more!!
Our fun vacation started off a little rough. Since Scott married into the Stone family he also married into the life of stand-by. For all of you who don't know what stand-by entails, let me explain. You go to the airport with a ticket that says "stand-by", which mine as well say "if you are lucky you just might get a seat. If you do get that lucky seat it might just be away from your partner or sitting next to the stinky bathrooms!". Don't get me wrong stand-by is VERY cheap and has been a blessing in our lives but I just didn't want you to think that we just magically get a free ticket to anywhere and off we go!! I wish! We then wait where everyone who has a real ticket is getting on the plane and then if there are seats left we get them! I do have to say though that the first flight out we got FIRST CLASS! That was a first for Scotty. What did we do in first class you may ask........SLEEP! We were so exhausted that we didn't even eat there food. I know it is a shame.
So our journey started on Friday night after the Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood concert, which was fun! Although I think Scott and I are getting a little old. We got there late and left
early because it was too loud. We got home that night around 11 pm and packed our bags until 12:30ish. Around 1 we fell asleep only to wake up one hour later. We left our house at 2:15 am to drive to Jacksonville to get on our 6:30 am flight. We gratefully got on and made it to Houston. Once we got to Houston we thought we were in the clear to get on our next flight, seeing that there were 15 seats open and only 10 stand-bys. Well to our surprise there was a weight restriction and they only allowed 5 extra people on. We were numbers 7 and 8. We then went and got some breakfast and waited for the next flight. We thought for sure we weren't getting on this plane because now there were only 6 seats open and 15 stand-bys. Those are not good odds for us! Well Miraculously we did!! YEAH! Off to Utah we went. It was a bumpy flight. I have to say that I was looking for the barf bag. Luckily I didn't have to use it...FEW! It was so good to be in Utah though. The mountains, the snow, family and friends were so nice to see.
Here are some og the things we did while we were there.......
*The first night it SNOWED! Everyone in UT is really sick of snow but but we miss the changing seasons. That doesn't really happen in wonderful Florida.
*We went to dinner with our friends the Silva's and played Scott's favorite game...Rock Band. He now thinks he is the worlds best drummer...although he was saved twice by Kaile....those who understand rock bank will understand that.

We celebrated Nate, Scott, and Cary's birthdays. We had so much fun playing a 
DVD game of Deal or No Deal. I have to say that if any of you want to have a friend that has a million dollars put me on that show. I one a million dollars the first time when I played by myself and the first time I was on a team with Mr. Scotty and we won 300 thousand. Not too bad. But I wanted to switch cases and in the other case was 1 million. I believe I am gifted!!
*Scott went snowboarding by himself one of the days and then went with his nephew Kanyon the second time. I offered to go the first time but he gets stressed worrying about leaving people behind. He just wanted to go up alone. He was supposed to go up for half day but text me half way through and wanted to stay all day. He had a great time. He also said that he enjoyed the time he got to spend with Kanyon. Although he froze to death both times he loved it. We say we miss the snow but that doesn't mean we are prepared for the cold that goes along with it.
*I spent the day with my sister Crystal who is expecting her second boy. We organized Tyson's room so that all of his toys would fit nicely with the new crib. He is not excited for a little baby to goober all over his toys. We found that out when Amy brought her 7 month old baby Jack over while Tyson was there. Jack was so interested in him but he wanted nothing to do with him. He is prepared to be a big brother....ah I don't think so!

d I went to the temple the day before we left. It was so nice to drive not even a block from his parent's house to get there. We can't even imagine that back here. Our closest temple is about 4 hours. The drive gives us good family time though.

*Of course we ate A LOT! We had to eat at all of our favorite restaurants. We have maybe 3 places we eat here. It was weird going to a city where every corner had some type of restaurant. Plus a LDS church!! HA HA! Just had to throw that one in there. We got to eat at Cafe Rio, La Caille(that isn't one we eat at often...even though it is delicious), Cafe Trang and Training Table. The only place we missed out on was Sushi Express. We will get there next time.
*We spent some time at Nate's to see his lovely basement, his little girl and wonderful wife who is also expecting! We are so excited for them. After we left there I felt inspired to knock down our walls and re due our whole house. When we get to that we will be calling you Nate!
* My family and Scott's parents went up to eat at La Caille the night before we left. It was a lot of fun. Even more fun that we didn't have to pay!! It is wonderful being related to my mother. Tyson came up dressed in a cute little suite with a tie. It was darling.
It was just so nice to be in Utah again with Scotty. We had never been there together as a married couple. Because of that it kind of felt like we were a newly married couple. We are very excited to come back for good but it still is going to be awhile. We love it there but know with out a doubt that this is where we need to be right now.

Wear a HELMET. It will save your life.
Two weeks ago, one of the scariest things happened to me and my friend Lila. Lila loves to do adventurous things and really wants to learn how to snowboard. Seeing that we live in FL, that isn't happening any time soon. Two Fridays ago we were hanging out and she wanted to try to do what Scott does all the time, longboarding with our dog pulling him. I said we could but only sitting down. Seeing that we really don't know how to longboarding and that I fell off and hurt my hand just a few weeks before this, I didn’t think it was a good idea doing it standing up. So we started on our way and I was first. I sat down and Chloe pulled me. It is quite fun I have to admit. So then it was her turn. She decided to try it on her feet all by herself first to see how she would do. She surprisingly did really well for her fist time. We went around our block and then Blackie pulled her slowly standing up. Blackie is a very slow dog so it wasn’t a big deal. I told her to just let go of the leash if they pull her too fast anyway. We went around once and then she wanted to go around again. So we did. She switched dogs and had Chloe pull her about halfway around the black. She started to go around a corner and Chloe started to run and about 8 houses down from my house she fell and hit her head. I was about 10 feet behind her and some how didn't see her actually fall, thank goodness. I would be playing it over and over in my head if I did. I thought at first that she was just laying there thinking about how she fell. As I got closer to her I saw that her eyes were closed and that there was blood on the ground. I didn't freak out on the outside but on the inside I was screaming "OH MY GOSH!" She was unconscious for about a min or so and then I got her to wake up. The ambulance got there about 7 min later and we rode to the hospital. She had a CT scan immediately and then was in ICU for 3 nights. She had internal bleeding on the brain but not enough to have surgery! Thank goodness. She got home 4 days later and is doing a little better. She is not allowed to drive or work for a couple of weeks and it may take a couple of months to actually go back to normal life.
There are certain things that happened that day that I can not disregard. There are many people in this world who say that this is all coincidental but I don't believe that at all. There was someone looking out for my friend Lila that day and it was Heavenly Father.
Two things that were not normal happened that day....
1. I walk my dogs almost every day around 11 or 12 and my neighborhood is completely empty. There are a lot of children that are at school and most of their parents are at work. I will maybe see 1 person or 1 car pass by and that is it.
2. I always carry my cell phone with me but I didn't that day.Before the accident happened we met a little boy who used to be the owner of our newest dog Blackie. We talked with him and he went around the block with us the second time around. This little boy lives in NC with his parents and they were visiting with his grandparents that day. Lila fell right where this family lives so when she fell the little boy that was with us when it happened was able to just run in his house and get his dad so he could call 911. If it weren't for this little boy being there and where she actually fell I would have had to run 8 houses to my house in flip flops with two dogs and get my phone to call 911, all while she was unconscious. I can't even fathom this thought.
As they were calling 911 I had no idea what to do. I had never been in a situation like this or even close to this. I said a prayer out loud and asked for guidance to know what to do. When I was through praying I had a distinct impression to one get her to wake up and keep her awake and two to keep her laying flat on her back. The first thing she did when she woke up was ask to get up. She was screaming at me to let her up but I knew that I should keep her on her back. I am a passive person and a push over so in a normal situation I would have done what she said but I knew in my heart that I needed to keep her laying down. I had to literally sit on her to keep her down. When the paramedics got there and heard her asking to get up they said, "NO you HAVE to stay on your back, it could injure you even more if you get up."
All of this didn't happen because I am a smart person or because we were lucky, it happened because of faith and because Heavenly Father was watching out for Lila. I am not one to preach or to publicly talk about spiritual stuff that happens to me but I think this one deserves to be written down.
Just a few days ago my mother in-law told me that one of her co-worker’s relatives did the exact same thing and he died from the head injury. I can not tell you how lucky I feel to have Lila doing so well.

Our new dog and Chrsitmas!
Below the writing I put some photos of some of the things I talked about in the this blog.
So Blackie, the new dog, was a a neighbors dog down the street from us. When we would take Chloe on walks we would always see here and they would play forever together. She was the sweetest dog to us and to Chloe. So everyday we would hope to see Blackie out of her fence so Chloe could play with her. We kept seeing her for about a month or so and as we started to get to know her we would pet her and get kisses from her. We realized that she had a ton of ticks on her and was really timid. So she followed us home one day and I though, "since your here I will get some of those ticks off of you." She was soo nice the whole time. So then we finally got the courage to talk to the owners and ask them if they wanted there dog. They obviously didn't really care about it so we wanted to help her. We talked to them and they didn't want her so we took her in. She is at the vet today and she is very healthy. Just a few hook worms which clear up quickly. So for now have two dogs until we decided if we are going to find a good home for her or keep her. It actually makes life a little less stressful with two because Chloe always has someone around to play with. It doesn't make house work less stressful but oh well. We'll see what we decide.
Christmas was fun! The Sunday night before Christmas Eve our cousins Wil and Jarrod slept over. We made cookies, pulled taffy, watched movies and just played around. It was a great great night. We were all laughing til we cried. There is a pic. of the boys and I pulling taffy. Then Christmas Eve morning we went out to do some last min. shopping with the boys and then back home they went.
Christmas Eve was a quite one. Scott and I and the dogs just stayed home and had a fire out back and watched a few Christmas movies. Scott was sweet and made a simple dinner but by candle light. There is a picture of that also. For lunch that day we made homemade tuna tar tar and seared tuna. It was SO yummy!
Christmas morning was good. We woke up around 8:30ish and Santa had come to leave presents!!! Scott got me concert tickets to the Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood concert and a digital frame. We might turn in the digital frame for a new digital camera though cause mine is not doing so good. Scott got a big remote control airplane and an ipod! He was pretty excited. We got other gifts from family that were so fun and we were so grateful that we had something from them. It made us feel like we were home. Scott then made Sticky buns for us and our family. They were tasty. For dinner we went over to my uncles to have a mixture of things for dinner; pulled pork, fish, potatoes, veggies and of course dessert! Then we played guitar hero for about two hours and some of their other games Wil and Jarrod got for Christmas. My uncle tried playing guitar hero but it didn't work out so good. I guess old folks just don't got it in them any more!! Ha Ha! One of my aunt's best friends and their family came over there as well and they all had Nerf gun wars. It was fun to watch them all run around like crazy! To end the night the boys and Scott and I watched part of It's a Wonderful Life by the fire and then home sweet home we went!
With all the events leading up to this Christmas seemed like it was going to be a little sad but it was a very good and happy holiday anyways.

The New Bathroom!
Last time I put up pictures of our bathroom it was torn apart. Now we have a put together cute bathroom that we are proud of. We still have the little details to finish up but you guys can't see that in the pictures....he he! Here it is!!!
