Logan at 3 months

Two Crazy Kids in Orlando

A few pictures of Wesley

Just thought i'd show their size difference.

Water Fun!

It is so blazing hot here that if we are out side we HAVE to be in the water so here are a few pictures of what we do for fun with water!

This is our neighbor friend Ebonee. She comes over and holds Wesley a lot and plays with Logan once and awhile. She is a great help, especially when Scott isn't around. She just LOVES holding Wesley!

My mom was so nice to send us this HUGE (that word is just for Jaclyn and Kaitlyn!) water slide. The kids loved it the first day but then they were scared of it the next time we brought it out. The adults don't mind it though.

If there isn't much going on Logan gets to just play with the hose and sprinkler. He loves it!

I think Logan looks pretty COOL here with his sun glasses and water shoes. He is ready to hit the water!

Long Over Due...

As you know Wesley Stone Nichols was born on May 4th. That is the reason for me not blogging. I have no time!! If I am not feeding, changing or holding Wesley then I am playing with Logan or cleaning up the house. I wish I could say I am sleeping when not doing stuff with my kids but whenever I get a free moment I end up trying to get something accomplished. Thanks to Scott Logan gets a lot of attention so he doesn't feel left out and the house is picked up.

Well here is the long over due story of how Wesley came into this world......
I was induced on May 4th at 8:45am. I was 39 weeks pregnant. When I first started off I was at 4cm and 85% effaced. I had been like this for about 4 weeks so it wasn't anything to write home about. I sat in the bed watching TV and chit chatting with Scotty and the nurses. Around noon the contractions were worse but not bad at all. I was up swaying back and forth to help with the pain. I wasn't allowed to really walk around or take a shower since I had to be monitored the entire time. Let me tell you...I was not happy about that! By that time I was about a 6 so I had made a little bit of progress. The doctor finally arrived around 1:45 and broke my water. Let me tell you...it was like a river of water that came out of me. It went all over the floor and soaked the bed. Wesley was packing it in to stay comfy I guess!! Anyway once the Dr. broke my water he told me it wouldn't be long before we had a baby! The contractions started to get really painful pretty quickly after that. About and hour later I asked for IV pain meds but the doctor said he couldn't give them to me because it could affect the baby. Of course I said that is fine but in my head I was thinking...I am going to DIE with out some medicine! So about 20 min later the doctor came in and suggested a different kind of pain medicine that wasn't a full epidural, cause he new I didn't want one of those. This medicine was supposed to numb just my uterus so that the contractions didn't hurt but I would still be able to feel the pushing and him coming out. I told him that I was fine so I was planning on just going with out meds. Then I felt I needed to use the restroom and the nurse of course said "are you sure it is just the need to go to the bathroom or is it the urge to push?" I knew it wasn't the urge to push but she checked me before I got up just in case. I was at an 8 so I was good to go. Well while in the bathroom I realized I was wrong and I stood there thinking, " I am only an EIGHT and I am having the urge to push! No way can I make it like this for two more cm!!" So when I came back to the bed I decided to get the medicine the doctor described to me. So within 5 min. the anesthesiologist was in the room and I was getting the meds. As he was prepping me to get them I was sitting up with my legs crossed and while sitting like that I realized that changing positions helped a ton with the contractions but I was too stubborn to turn back now. So I got the medicine. It turned out that the anesthesiologist gave me a full epidural so I couldn't feel ANYTHING! So disappointing. I know some of you are thinking I am crazy for saying that but when I had Logan feeling him come out was the best feeling ever! Anyway I got the "epidural" at 3pm and at 3:36 Wesley was born!! I pushed 3 times and out he came! Scott cut the cord and then the doctor threw him on my chest, literally. He wasn't clean AT ALL and stuff went all over me, including my face. I love Wesley but I could have waiting 30 sec. for them to wipe him off a little bit. He was a bit pale for the first minutes of his life but quickly regained his color. He was a happy healthy baby!

We stayed at my parents house for the next 3 weeks which was an absolute blessing. Although at first I was upset because I had to stay in Utah to have him, I couldn't imagine having to do it all with out the help of both of our families. Thanks everyone!

Since coming home and since Scott's parents left it has been a little tough but not too bad. Wesley is getting more and more used to not being held all the time. He was spoiled with everyone holding him in Utah and while grandma and grandpa Nichols were here. He now can be put down and won't cry bloody murder, most of the time that is. His favorite thing to do is to be bounced in your arms on an exercise ball. Don't ask me why but it calms him down IMMEDIATELY! Thanks to my friend Kaitlyn I found that out! It has been a life saver. Trust me people, GET AN EXERCISE BALL if you have a new baby around! He finally slept in his co-sleeper two nights in a row for 2-3 three hour stretches! I slept in my own bed without a child on me for the first time in 2 months! I was sleeping on the couch because it was just easier to get up and feed him and not disturb the rest of the family. During my couch stay though, a little boy named Logan got used to sneaking into our room to sleep with Scott in the middle of the night. See we got him a big boy bed about a month ago and he loves it but is able to get out of bed when he wants. He can open his bedroom door and go where he pleases. Some nights he will go into our bedroom to get Scott but if he doesn't respond quick enough he runs out to the living room to come find me! It is so funny though because he has the biggest smile on his face when he sees you in the middle of the night! I love it! My first night back in the bed he came into sleep in our bed and it was quite crowded with two adults, one toddler and two dogs. I almost missed the couch!! Just kidding! When I sleep in our bed I put Wesley in the co-sleeper and put him across the hall in the guest room because if he is near me I wake up to every little movement he makes and don't really get the sleep I need.

Well that is enough for now. I will put some new pictures of soon and hopefully keep up with the blog a little better

Wesley got his 2 month check up two days ago and it was the weirdest thing. He was really fussy when we first got there so I calmed him down just in time for the doctor to mess with him. After the doctor left he was fussy again so I calmed him down just in time for the nurse to give him 3 shots! Of course he cried bloody murder when he got them. I knew he was hungry so I waiting to feed him so I could comfort him after his shots. Well it turned out that after I just picked him up after the shots he stopped crying and didn't make another peep for about 3 hours. He just slept in his car seat. Since then he has been a much calmer baby. He is no longer getting the Tylenol for the fever that he could have possibly got after his shots so it isn't because of that. We decided that he just needed a little something to calm him down and I guess it worked. He just seems much more pleasant and happy now. I know, WEIRD!!

Logan has grown quite attached to Scott since we returned from Utah because he is always playing with him while I take care of Wesley. I think Logan is the only 19month old child that cries for da da instead of ma ma. When I put him down at night he lays there repeating da da, da da! I have to keep telling him that da da isn't home. Tonight he really cried for da da right before he fell asleep. I think it is cute and sad for me at the same time. At least I know he will want his ma ma again one day when Wesley is older and the three of us can play together.

Logan is getting a little more used to Wesley but not much. He mostly wants to throw things at him or squeeze him until he pops. He has a little friend named Gabriel that is a day older than him and whenever she is around Wesley she wants to kiss him, hug him or just be around him. Girls and boys are definitely different from the very beginning!
